Fair Use and Responsible Behavior
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines prohibited activities and expected behavior when using Builddesk. Violations may result in account suspension or termination.
1. Purpose and Scope
This AUP applies to all users of the Builddesk platform, including:
- Account owners and administrators
- Team members and collaborators
- Client portal users
- Any person accessing the platform through your account
You are responsible for ensuring that all users under your account comply with this policy.
2. Prohibited Activities
2.1 Illegal Content and Activities
You may not use Builddesk to:
- Store, distribute, or transmit content that is illegal under applicable law
- Violate intellectual property rights (copyrights, trademarks, patents)
- Facilitate fraud, identity theft, or money laundering
- Distribute child exploitation material or engage in illegal activities
- Violate export control or sanctions laws
- Use of the Service in violation of EU, US, or international trade sanctions or embargoes
2.2 Harmful Content
You may not upload or share:
- Malware, viruses, worms, Trojans, or other malicious code
- Content designed to harm or exploit minors
- Content that incites violence, hatred, or discrimination
- Defamatory, obscene, or harassing content
- Content that violates others' privacy or confidentiality
2.3 Unauthorized Access and Security Violations
You may not attempt to:
- Access accounts, data, or systems that do not belong to you
- Bypass authentication, security measures, or access controls
- Exploit vulnerabilities to gain unauthorized access
- Conduct penetration testing or security scanning without written permission
- Use brute-force attacks or password cracking tools
- Phish for credentials or impersonate other users
2.4 Abuse and Harassment
You may not use Builddesk to:
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users
- Stalk or persistently contact someone against their will
- Engage in discriminatory behavior based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Create a hostile or unsafe environment for others
2.5 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
You may not:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam)
- Use the platform for phishing or deceptive communications
- Harvest email addresses or contact information without consent
- Abuse notification features to send excessive or irrelevant messages
2.6 Service Abuse and Misuse
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the platform
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data
- Create derivative works based on the platform without permission
- Use the platform to provide services to third parties without authorization
- Resell, lease, or sublicense access to Builddesk
- Use the platform in a manner that degrades performance for other users
2.7 Rate Limits and Resource Abuse
Builddesk implements reasonable rate limits and resource quotas to ensure fair usage. You may not:
- Exceed rate limits through automated scripts or excessive API calls
- Upload excessively large files beyond documented limits
- Store data unrelated to legitimate business use (e.g., personal backups, media libraries)
- Intentionally consume resources to disrupt service for others
- Circumventing documented API limits or usage policies
3. Responsible Use Guidelines
3.1 Data Accuracy and Integrity
- Provide accurate and truthful information
- Do not falsify records or manipulate data to mislead stakeholders
- Respect the integrity of shared project data
3.2 Respectful Communication
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with team members and clients
- Resolve disputes constructively
- Use appropriate language and tone
3.3 Privacy and Confidentiality
- Respect the privacy of other users
- Do not share confidential information without authorization
- Comply with data protection laws (GDPR, etc.) when processing personal data
4. Enforcement and Consequences
4.1 Investigation
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. Investigations may include:
- Reviewing activity logs and usage patterns
- Examining reported content or communications
- Requesting information from you or affected parties
4.2 Enforcement Actions
Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: First-time minor violations may result in a written warning
- Content Removal: Prohibited content will be removed from the platform
- Feature Restriction: Temporary or permanent restriction of certain features
- Account Suspension: Temporary suspension of access (typically 7-30 days)
- Account Termination: Permanent termination for serious or repeat violations
- Legal Action: Reporting to law enforcement if illegal activity is suspected. We may cooperate with law enforcement where legally required.
4.3 No Refunds
If your account is suspended or terminated for violating this AUP, you are not entitled to a refund for any unused time in your subscription. See our Refund Policy for details.

If you become aware of activity that violates this AUP, please report it immediately:

Provide as much detail as possible, including account information, timestamps, and evidence (screenshots, logs).
6. Appeals and Disputes

- Your account email address
- Description of the circumstances
- Explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
We will review appeals within 5 business days and provide a decision. Our decision is final.
7. Third-Party Complaints
If we receive a complaint from a third party alleging that your use of Builddesk violates their rights (e.g., copyright infringement, privacy violation), we may:
- Notify you of the complaint
- Request information or clarification
- Temporarily suspend access to disputed content
- Comply with legal obligations (e.g., DMCA takedown notices)
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
