Refund Policy
Last updated: January 20, 2026
Our Approach: Trial First, Then Subscribe
Builddesk offers a 14-day free trial that allows customers to fully test all features of the platform before subscribing. Because customers can evaluate the service without any financial commitment, we do not offer refunds for paid subscriptions once a billing period has started.
B2B Service Notice
This Refund Policy applies primarily to business customers (B2B). Consumer withdrawal rights may not apply where legally excluded.
1. Free Trial Policy
Builddesk provides a 14-day free trial with full access to plan features (typically Professional-tier features) to help you determine if the platform meets your needs.
During the Trial:
- Full Feature Access: You have access to all core features without limitations
- No Payment Required: No credit card or payment information is required to start your trial
- No Automatic Charges: The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription
- Cancel Anytime: You can cancel during the trial period without any obligation
After the Trial:
At the end of the 14-day trial period:
- You must actively select and subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the Service
- If no plan is selected, your account will convert to view-only mode (data remains accessible for 30 days)
- You can export your data at any time during the view-only period
2. No Refund Policy for Subscriptions
Because customers have the opportunity to fully evaluate Builddesk through the free trial before making any financial commitment, we do not offer refunds for completed billing periods.
Why No Refunds?
- Fair Evaluation Period: The 14-day free trial provides ample time to test all features
- Transparent Pricing: All pricing, features, and limitations are clearly documented before subscription
- Monthly Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly with no long-term contracts, minimizing financial risk
- Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time without penalties
Digital Service Waiver
By subscribing to a paid plan, you expressly agree that the digital service begins immediately upon payment and acknowledge that statutory withdrawal rights may be excluded where permitted by law.
3. Subscription Billing and Cancellation
3.1 Monthly Billing
Subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Your billing cycle starts on the date you subscribe to a paid plan.
- Starter & Professional Plans: Billed automatically via credit card
- Enterprise Plan: Invoiced monthly with NET 30 payment terms
3.2 Cancellation Process
You may cancel your subscription at any time:
- Through your account settings
- By contacting billing@builddesk.io
3.3 What Happens After Cancellation
When you cancel your subscription:
- Access Remains Active: Your access continues until the end of your current billing period
- No Future Charges: You will not be charged for subsequent billing periods
- No Partial Refunds: You will not receive a refund for unused time in the current period
- Data Retention: Your data remains accessible in view-only mode for 30 days after the billing period ends
- Export Your Data: You can export your data at any time during this period
- Permanent Deletion: After 30 days, all data is permanently deleted
4. Exceptions to the No-Refund Policy
While we do not offer refunds for completed billing periods, we will investigate and resolve the following situations:
4.1 Billing Errors
If you are charged incorrectly due to a technical error or system malfunction, we will:
- Investigate the issue promptly
- Refund any incorrect charges in full
- Correct billing records to prevent future errors
4.2 Duplicate Charges
If you are charged more than once for the same billing period, we will refund the duplicate charge immediately.
4.3 Unauthorized Charges
If you believe your payment method was charged without your authorization, contact us immediately at billing@builddesk.io. We will:
- Investigate the claim
- Suspend the account if necessary to prevent further charges
- Issue a refund if the charge is confirmed to be unauthorized
4.4 Service Outages (Enterprise Plans Only)
For Enterprise customers with a Service Level Agreement (SLA), extended service outages that exceed the SLA commitment may qualify for service credits. This does not apply to Starter or Professional plans.
5. How to Request a Refund (Exceptions Only)
If you believe you qualify for a refund under one of the exceptions listed above, please contact us:
Billing Support:
E-Mail: billing@builddesk.io
Include in Your Request:
- Your account email address
- Transaction details (date, amount, transaction ID if available)
- Description of the issue
- Supporting documentation (if applicable)
We will respond to refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 7-10 business days and will be credited to the original payment method.
6. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or payment processor without first contacting us, your account may be immediately suspended or terminated to prevent further charges.
We strongly encourage you to contact us first at billing@builddesk.io to resolve any billing issues. Most disputes can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
Repeated chargebacks or disputes may result in permanent account termination and restriction from future use of the Service.
7. Taxes and VAT
Subscription prices exclude applicable sales tax, VAT, or other government-imposed taxes. These taxes are calculated and added at checkout based on your location.
Refunds for incorrectly applied taxes: If you are charged sales tax or VAT in error, we will refund the tax amount once the issue is verified. Contact billing@builddesk.io with your VAT exemption certificate or other supporting documentation.
8. Downgrading or Upgrading Plans
8.1 Upgrading
You can upgrade your subscription plan at any time. When you upgrade:
- The new plan takes effect immediately
- You are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period
- Future billing reflects the new plan's pricing
8.2 Downgrading
You can downgrade your subscription plan at any time. When you downgrade:
- The downgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing period
- You retain access to your current plan features until the end of the current billing period
- No refunds or credits are provided for the difference between plans
9. Changes to This Refund Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Changes will be communicated via email notification and prominent notice on our website.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
